Rabi Crops
Rabi crops are sown from October to December and harvested from March to May. They include wheat, mustard, barley and chickpeas, and depend on soil moisture, winter rain and irrigation.
Why It Matters
A poor monsoon can hurt the following rabi season too, by leaving reservoirs and soil dry.
In India
Wheat, the biggest rabi crop, is grown mainly in Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
