Anti-Dumping Duty

Dumping is when a foreign company exports goods at a price below what it charges at home or below cost. An anti-dumping duty is imposed after an investigation to offset that unfair price advantage.

Why It Matters

Anti-dumping duties protect domestic producers from being undercut, but raise costs for buyers.

In India

India regularly imposes anti-dumping duties on certain Chinese steel, chemicals and solar products.
