Safe Haven
A safe haven is an asset expected to hold or gain value during market turmoil, such as gold, the US dollar, US government bonds or the Swiss franc. Investors move into safe havens when riskier assets are falling.

Safe havens are safe from some risks, not from their own price swings.

Gold rallied strongly through 2025 as investors sought safety from tariffs and geopolitical tension.
