Economies of Scale
Economies of scale are the cost advantages that come from producing at larger volume: fixed costs like factories and software are spread over more units, and bigger buyers get better prices from suppliers.
Why It Matters
Scale is why big companies can often undercut small ones on price.
In India
A telecom network costs enormous sums to build, but once built, serving one more customer costs very little, which favours the largest operators.
